A Sligo-Leitrim TD says the reasons behind the long delay that motorists are currently experiencing in relation to NCT delays need to be established.
Currently there are 375,000 cars are on the roads without a valid NCT.

They claim backlogs are partly down to a large number of motorists failing to show up for their tests and an ageing workforce.
