Dáil hears how there are no ambulances available to provide transport for Sligo person with painful congenital condition



The Taoiseach has pledged to look into a ‘special case’ in Sligo where a HSE ambulance is not being provided to a person for essential medical appointments who suffers from a painful congenital condition.

 

The person in question also has a range of illnesses but currently have to travel by car as there is rarely an ambulance available to cater to them.

 

The issue was raised in the Dail by Sligo Leitrim Independent TD Marian Harkin who described it as a ‘cruel situation, leaving the patient in agony.
