Leitrim councillor looks for commitment on out of hours GP service

A Leitrim Councillor has called on the local Authority to secure a commitment from the HSE to ensure that there will be A GP available at all times including out of hours to cater for the needs of Leitrim residents and those in the north west.

Cllr Brendan Barry expressed concern that any reduction in the Now Doc services in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal during the current health crisis would have disastrous consequences.

The Sinn Fein Councillor says current services covering Leitrim based in Mountcharles in Donegal and Carrick-on-Shannon must be retained in order to prevent even further pressure being placed on local Hospitals including Sligo University Hospital.
