Sinn Féin Health Spokesperson calls for more help for “exhausted” healthcare workers



The number of people waiting on trollies continues to put the health system under strain.

Although there has been a decrease nationwide in the last few days, 639 people remain on trollies in hospitals around the country today.

In the North West, there are 82 people waiting for a bed in the region’s two main hospitals, with 51 waiting for a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital, and 31 waiting in Sligo University Hospital.

The current crisis has led to a number of consultants raising concerns including those based in the north west.

Sinn Féin says it’s no surprise doctors are annoyed at being asked to ‘do more’ by the Health Minister.
