It’s emerged that a Donegal woman was selected to read one of the readings at the Requiem Mass of former Pope Benedict the 16th.
Mary Maguire from Letterkenny read the second reading, which was from the First letter of St Peter.
It is understood that Mrs Maguire’s involvement in the mass is down to her work in the Diocese of Raphoe.
Pope Benedict will be laid to rest today following the historic ceremony which will take place in the surrounds of St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican.
