Bishop Doran appeals for no competition between homeless groups in his Christmas Message

In his Christmas message the Bishop of the Dioceses of Elphin Kevin Doran has paid tribute to the late Donegal solider, Private Sean Rooney and members of the Irish defence forces that served on peacekeeping missions in the Lebanon.

Bishop Doran says people like Sean Rooney take risks all the time in order to protect others and compared the work of the defence forces to the ‘saving action of God in our time’

Bishop Doran stressed the importance of support in society for the homeless, asylum seekers and refuges and stated the importance that there is no competition between the different groups of homeless people that he says all have the same needs.
