Housing Minister claims he is aware of the suffering that mica home owners are enduring



The Housing Minister has expressed an understanding over the urgency on the roll out of the new defective concrete blocks scheme.

 

It follows a protest at the gates of the County House in Lifford this week by affected homeowners over major issues in accessing and progressing through the Mica Redress Scheme.

 

There are fears that many who are waiting to access the enhanced scheme simply can’t wait any longer due to a significant deterioration of their homes.

Responding, Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien says he is waiting on the local authority to revert back to him as it relates to some details but is acutely aware of how urgent the situation is:
