Taoiseach addreses Sligo University Hospital crisis in Dáil



The Taoiseach has conceded that the planned surgical bloc at Sligo University Hospital is key in addressing the crisis currently being experienced by the facility.

However, Michael Martin has also reiterated that funding sanctioned to the hospital has increased while efforts are being made to fill some vacant posts.

All the while, it’s emerged that over 34 senior consultants at Sligo Hospital have now raised their grave concerns by way of emails to Independent TD Marian Harkin.

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly also met with consultants this week in what was a described as constructive meeting.
