Avian flu: Poultry owners in North West urged to take measures



Poultry owners in the North West are being urged to take some measures to prevent the spread of avian flu.

 

Earlier this week a case of the bird flu was confirmed, after a swan was discovered dead in Co Cavan.

 

Poultry owners have been issued with an order to house their flocks from next Monday, to prevent the spread.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM news, Agriculture Minister and Donegal TD Charlie McConalogue says the introduction of the housing order is a precautionary measure:
