More than 500 lines of inquiry being followed over Creeslough explosion

Gardai have been granted an extension by the High Court to continue to preserve the scene at Creeslough until November 27th.

The purpose is to ‘preserve, search for and collect evidence’ to facilitate the investigation into the explosion at a petrol station in the Donegal village.

More than 500 lines of enquiry have been actioned and numerous items have been recovered from the scene, with a number of these needing further testing.

A careful and systematic approach is being taken to the forensic examination of the scene due to the structural instability of the building, which is being closely monitored.

More than 260 statements have been taken and house to house enquiries are at an advanced stage.
