Fianna Fáil senator calls for a speedy resolution to issues preventing Deputy MacSharry returning to the party.

A Fianna Fáil senator says there is ‘a desire among party members’ that issues surrounding the return of Sligo Leitrim TD Marc MacSharry to the Parliamentary Party is resolved as quickly as possible.

Senator Eugene Murphy was speaking to OceanFM news ahead of a scheduled party meeting tonight which is expected to discuss the issue.

It was expected that the Deputy MacSharry would have been readmitted to the party last week, however this failed to materialise due to a complaint from a Fianna Fáil councillor in Sligo.

It’s understood the complaint made against him were in relation to comments made in a private WhatsApp Group of Fianna Fáil representatives in Sligo.

Senator Murphy attended a local Fianna Fail meeting in Sligo earlier this week and says there is a strong desire among local Fianna Fáil members for the matter to be resolved as soon as possible.
