Leitrim councillor worried with waiting times at Sligo University Hospital A&E

This week’s meeting of the Ballinamore Municipal District of Leitrim County Council heard calls for the Local Authority to contact the HSE and the Management of Sligo University Hospital to see what procedures they have in place to help ease the waiting periods in A&E.

The calls were made by the independent councillor Gerry Dolan who recently visited the hospital with a patient.

Cllr Dolan reported seeing long delays in the A&E department in particular for those waiting to avail of Xrays.

The long serving independent councillor says the situation could be immediately improved if more doctors were deployed to the north west facility.
