Councillor calls for definitive levy statement



A Sligo Councillor is calling on the government to make a definitive statement on whether the concrete levy will be scraped or not.

There have been conflicting reports over the past couple of days in relation to the introduction of the controversial levy that was announced recently in the Budget.

It was reported over the weekend that the Government have bowed to pressure from the construction industry and will do a U turn on the decision to introduce the levy.

 

However the Minister for Agriculture and Donegal TD, Charlie McConalogue claimed recently that the Government are still trying to figure out how the levy will be applied.
