There are fears that someone will be badly injured on a section of road outside Ballymote unless a safety barrier is put in place.
The route, roughly 2km outside the village on the Sligo side is at a raised level to a nearby field.
There was a crash in the area over the summer when a car went off the road and went into an open drain.
Local Cllr Dara Mulvey says that thankfully there was very little water in the drain due to the time of year but it could have been much worse.
Cllr Mulvey says it’s imperative that Sligo County Council look at the route to see what measures can be put in place:
