The Tanaiste has failed to give a commitment for specific funding for the North West Simon community.
The Government’s most recent homelessness statistics show that 106 individuals, including 22 child dependents, were provided with local authority-managed emergency accommodation in Donegal, Leitrim, and Sligo, during the week of July 20th – 26th, 2022.
Independent Donegal TD Thomas Pringle raised the issue in the Dail in recent says and says the figures for this region don’t truly reflect the situation on the ground.
During the exchange, Leo Varadkar says he does expect funding for homeless services to be included as part of Budget 2023 but advised to take the issue up with the Housing Minister:
