Rally to highlight the lack of school bus places taking place in Sligo Town today



A Rally is being held in Sligo Town today by concerned parents and children to highlight the lack of school bus places.

The rally which will take place at the carpark at Summerhill just off the roundabout on the N4 at 2pm.

Students from different area will be speaking on their concerns and highlighting the fact that they have no bus seat.

The Government’s new free school transport initiative has led to outrage and concern from pupils and parents with scores of local families now left without any school transport for their children.

Speaking to Ocean FM news ahead of today’s rally Sinn Fein councillor Thomas Healy highlighted the importance of families in the Northwest making their voices heard.

 

Also speaking ahead of today’s rally students Rhianna Nealis and Prionsius Murray expressed why they will be attending the rally.
