A Sligo Leitrim TD says most Gardai are doing a good job and in the vast majority are held in a high regard by the communities in which they serve.
Sinn Feins Justice Spokesperson Martin Kenny was reacting to recent freedom of information files, which show that 122 members are currently suspended due to allegations of wrongdoing.
One Garda has been suspended from duty for between eight and ten years.
