Dessie Sloyan & James Glancy get Longford management roles

Sligo’s under-20 Connacht championship-winning manager Dessie Sloyan and Leitrim senior selector James Glancy are set to join new Longford manager Paddy Christie as part of his new backroom team.

Christie, a former Dublin All-Ireland winner and All-Star is set to be ratified as the new Longford senior football manager – and he’s bringing in Sloyan and Glancy as part of his management ticket.

Easkey’s Dessie Sloyan guided Sligo to a first-ever Connacht under-20 football championship title earlier this year – and he was recently linked to Declan Shaw’s unsuccessful bid to become the next Mayo senior manager.

North Leitrim’s James Glancy has been part of Andy Moran’s backroom team with the Leitrim senior footballers but is now set to leave that role to join Christie and Sloyan in Longford.

Glancy also currently manages the Glencar/Manorhamilton senior women’s gaelic football team alongside Gerry Hickey.
