Donegal County Council has published a formal notice to proceed with a Compulsory Purchase Order to acquire lands in south west Donegal as part of the Fintra Bridge and Road Realignment outside Killybegs.
The CPO is set to affect over 40 landowners in the area including Killybegs GAA Club and Council owned lands.
The development, which has been in the pipeline for some time, will include a new bridge across the Fintra River, a pedestrian and cycle route and road realignment works.
To facilitate the development, six public rights of way are also set to be closed.
