Concern over timeframe of special needs classroom for St Clare’s Manorhamilton

Serious concern has been raised over the proposed timeframe for a purpose built classroom for children with special needs at St. Clare’s Primary School in Manorhamilton.

The new planned extension to the school got the green light last week and comprises of three special education rooms alongside an additional special educational needs room.

However, there are fears that it won’t be built on time for the upcoming academic year.

There’s six children currently enrolled at the school who need to be catered to in the planned facility.

Speaking in the Dail, Sinn Fein Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny says parents have been left disappointed and that the level urgency cannot be overstated.
