Sligo Rovers lose to Bohs in women’s FAI Cup 1/4 final

There was disappointment for Sligo Rovers in Saturday’s EVOKE.ie Women’s FAI Cup quarter-final at Dalymount Park as Steve Feeney’s side lost 3-1 to Bohemians.

Three first-half goals from the home side through Abbie Brophy, Erica Burke (pen) and Niamh Prior effectively settled this contest.

Rovers managed to pull a goal back six minutes in the second-half through midfielder Lauren Boles.

However, Bohs kept their opponents at arms length for the remainder of the half to claim a place in the last four.

The two teams will meet again next Saturday in the league, this time at the Showgrounds.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Leitrim’s Muireann Devaney was on target for Athlone Town as they beat Cork City by two goals to nil.

The semi-final draw will be made on Tuesday.
