‘Positive engagement’ in Sligo for Operation Twin Tracks



Garda in the Sligo/Leitrim held what’s been described as a positive engagement with the public as part of Operation “Twin Tracks”.

 

The initiative which took place on Friday, aims to prevent and detect anti-social behaviour on rail routes.

 

The role of An Garda Síochána in Sligo/Leitrim Division for this initiative was to provide a high visibility presence at our Railway Stations and to have positive engagement with the public to enhance crime prevention.

 

Sergeant Cara Kiernan, Garda Crime Prevention Officer Sligo/Leitrim along with Community Gardaí from Leitrim & Sligo Garda Community Engagement Units conducted high visibility patrols on the Sligo – Dublin Railway Line between Sligo and Dromod Stations.

 

Garda Noel Ruane and Garda Cian Finan, Ballymote Garda Station and Student Garda Aidan Maguire, Carrick On Shannon Garda Station also assisted in this initiative on Friday 29th July 2022.

 

Sligo Gardaí also held a crime prevention and awareness information stand in the foyer of MacDiarmada Railway Station,
