More incentives needed to encourage taxi drivers to work on weekend nights



A Sligo taxi provider is warning that more incentives are needed to encourage drivers to work busy weekend evenings.

 

It’s after a survey this week by the National Transport Authority found that less than 30% of drivers were undertaking shifts at night time.

 

It’s hoped that a new fare structure may encourage them to cover more unsociable hours but Daithi Feehily of Feehily taxi, bus and coach hire in Sligo believes that in reality, this would barely cover the rise in the cost of fuel.
