Carbon emissions debate ‘too focused on numbers’ – Markey



A Midlands North West MEP has criticised the ongoing debate around carbon emissions for being too focused on ideologies and numbers as opposed to science and solutions.

 

There’s big concern among the farming community if the government decides to implement maximum cuts to the sector.

 

The Taoiseach, Tánaiste, Green Party Leader and Agriculture Minister all met this week where the issue was discussed in detail however no agreement was reached.

 

Fine Gael’s Colm Markey who sits on the European Parliament Committee on Agriculture has backed calls for other ways to be looked at to work around the issue:
