Safety fence near Lough Melvin ‘unfit for purpose’



It’s been claimed that the current state of a safety fence near Lough Melvin in Rossinver is unfit for purpose and may pose a danger to children.

 

The wooden fence is located close to where annual summer swimming classes take place alongside the Rossinver to Garrison road and it’s thought that its deteriorated state has rendered it a potential threat to local people and lake users.

 

Local Cllr Sean McDermott says it’s been an issue for some time and there needs to be some sort replacement put in place sooner rather than later

 

Cllr McDermott is hopeful that Leitrim County Council will come up with a solution:
