Legal Aid Board open new offices in Sligo

Minister of State at the Department of Justice with responsibility for Law Reform, James Browne T.D. is in Sligo today where he will officially opened the Legal Aid Board’s new co-located Sligo Law Centre and Mediation Centre.

The facility in Sligo is situated at Bridgewater House, at Rockwood Parade on Thomas Street.

The Legal Aid Board is the statutory, independent body responsible for the provision of civil legal aid and advice to persons of modest means.

The Board also additional responsibility to provide a family mediation service.

It’s hoped the co-locating law centres and mediation centres will encourage those requesting legal services in relation to a family dispute, to try and resolve the dispute with the assistance of a mediator rather than through a court process.
