A protest is underway in Grange over ongoing footpath works taking place near the local primary school in the village.
The works are funded under the Active Travel Scheme in the region of €50,000 and will see footpaths installed on the bridge and adjacent to the school.
However there’s concern locally on the narrowing of what is an already narrow bridge which would effectively render it a single lane.
Residents believe that this would inevitably lead to congestion and traffic backing up to the main road especially at peak times around the school.
