There are renewed calls on the Chief Superintendent in Sligo to give strong consideration to the possibility of constructing a new Garda station on the outskirts of Sligo town.
There had been previous plans locally to build a state of the art station however they were shelved with refurbishment works carried out to the current building on Pearse Street.
However it’s thought by local Independent Cllr Marie Casserly that a new facility along with a new fire station should be situated together in a state owned site in Caltra.
