There were 54 people waiting for a bed at the two main North West Hospitals this morning.
35 people were waiting at Sligo University Hospital while a further 19 were waiting at Letterkenny.
Nationally, there were 493 people waiting at hospitals across the country today.
University Hospital Limerick continues to be the most overcrowded with 83 people waiting there.
