Drunk driver caught speeding in Donegal



A drunk driver has been caught speeding in south Donegal.

Gardaí attached to Donegal Town Roads Policing Unit detected the vehicle travelling at 132KPH in a 100 zone last night.

A fixed Charge Penalty Notice will be issued for the speeding offence: €80 fine and 3 penalty points.

The driver subsequently failed the preliminary roadside breath test and was arrested.

A further breath sample taken at the Garda Station established that the driver was over the legal limit which will mean that the driver will receive a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice: 3 months disqualification and a fine of €200.
