There were 42 people waiting for a bed at the two main North West hospitals this morning.
According to the latest trolley watch report there were 23 people waiting at Sligo University Hospital while a further 19 were waiting at Letterkenny.
University Hospital Limerick continues to be the most overcrowded with 104 people waiting there.
Nationally, there were 525 people waiting at hospitals across the country today.
