Sligo Councilor says the governments reaction to crisis is unacceptable

Cost of living protests are getting underway in towns and cities across the country this afternoon.

Demonstrators are accusing the Government of not doing enough to ease the pressure on households.
Fuel costs and rent are two of the major complaints, with consumers also noticing a rise in food prices.

The Cost of Living Coalition’s organised the rallies, saying the Government’s failed to understand the harsh reality for people facing the rising cost of living.

Speaking to oceanfm news at the Sligo demonstration Cllr O’Boyle said with the price of electricity and fuel set to raise further in the coming months this is only the first step on the road for change.
