Further pressure applied on Housing Minister over Mica Redress



The Housing Minister has been further pressed for a timeline as to when the enhanced Mica Redress Scheme will be brought before Cabinet.

 

Homeowners had been expecting the Mica Bill to be brought before the Oireachtas this week however it’s now expected that that will happen on Tuesday next.

 

There are also ongoing concerns as it relates to whether there will be a pre-legislative scrutiny of the scheme.

 

Speaking in the Dáil, Sinn Fein’s Finance Spokesperson and Donegal TD Pearse Doherty asked Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien for an update of the state of the play:

 

 

Responding, Minister O’Brien says he hopes that Sinn Fein will support the Bill and reiterated how the Government invited the party’s input into the upcoming scheme:
