Donegal TD calls for an increase in minimum wage



The Government is under increasing pressure to raise the minimum wage to the living wage.

 

Addressing the Dáil recently as part of a debate on the Living Wage Bill, Independent TD for Donegal, Thomas Pringle says minimum-wage workers are among those most affected by the cost-of-living crisis.

 

 

Deputy Pringle made reference to Killybegs and how the area relies heavily on many tourism and hospitality workers who are now struggling to make ends meet.

 

 

He believes that ultimately the economy would benefit overall if the wage was increased:
