Tanaiste hopeful waiting list plan will alleviate pressures at Letterkenny University Hospital



The Tanaiste is hopeful that the Governments waiting list plan will alleviate ongoing pressures faced by Letterkenny University Hospital.

 

The issue was raised in the Dail by Independent TD for Donegal Thomas Pringle who claimed that Donegal was bottom of the pecking order when it comes to investment in healthcare.

 

Figures show that there are over 2,800 people waiting for ENT, orthopaedics and cardiology appointments for over 18 months alone in Letterkenny.

 

Responding, Leo Varadkar says while recruitment and retention of staff is a big problem, it is the Governments objective to get waiting lists down:
