Brave Leitrim miss out on Lory Meagher Cup final

There was bitter disappointment for Leitrim hurlers on Saturday in their Lory Meagher Cup game against Louth as the wee county ran out narrow winners in Ballinamore on a final scoreline of  2-18 to 2-16.

The result means Olcan Conway’s side miss out on a place in the final – with Louth instead going forward to play Longford in the Lory Meagher decider next Saturday.

The sides were level at half-time (1-8 to 0-11) and level again going into the last minute of normal time – but Louth created two late scores from play in added time to edge to victory.
