ROI leader describes turf ban as a knee-jerk reaction to dealing with climate change

A suggestion by Green Party Leader and Environment Minister Eamonn Ryan to ban the selling and distribution of turf from September 1st is another knee-jerk, no common sense approach to dealing with climate change.

That’s according to the leader of the Rural Ireland Organisation, Gerry Loftus, who says that with prices rising, this idea could not come at a worse time for many people.

And he adds that while politicians are failing to deal with climate change, resulting in billions being paid in fines, they are telling people what they think they want to hear.
