There are warnings being sounded this morning in relation to the amount of emergency accommodation available in Sligo.
Local councillor Gino O’ Boyle is calling for emergency measures to be introduced which will prevent families ending up on the street. He has called for similar measures to be introduced to those that were used during Covid-19 pandemic to deal with the humanitarian crisis in the Ukraine.
The People Before Profit Councillor has also called for Housing Assistance Payment rates to be increased immediately.
The Sligo Strandhill Councillor says there are very little options available to those needing emergency housing in Sligo.
