42 patients waiting for beds in Sligo hospital



Sligo University Hospital is today one of the most overcrowded in the country, with 42 patients waiting for beds, 32 of whom are in the emergency department.

There are 19 patients waiting in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Among the worst-hit hospitals today are University Hospital Limerick with 97 patients waiting for beds, Cork University Hospital with 49, and University Hospital Galway with 44.

Throughout the country today, 510 people in hospitals are waiting for beds; seven of those are children under 16.
