Summerhill College lose Connacht semi-final after extra-time

There was disappointment on Monday for Summerhill College junior gaelic footballers as they were edged out by Claregalway after extra-time in the Connacht Colleges Junior ‘A’ semi-final, at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan.

The teams finished level at 3-7 a-piece at the end of normal time, but two Claregalway goals in extra-time proved decisive as they restricted their opponents to just three points in the extra period en route to a  five-point victory.

Claregalway will now play St Coleman’s of Claremorris in the Connacht junior final.

There were better fortunes for the Jesus and Mary Secondary School Enniscrone in their junvenile quarter-final as they beat St Joseph’s Charlestown by 6-11 to 1-2 to progress to the last four.
