Sligo LGFA minors beat Leitrim in Connacht Championship



Sligo LGFA minor gaelic footballers collected their first win of the 2022 Connacht minor championship on Sunday with a high-scoring 4-21 to 4-7 success over neighbours Leitrim in Curry.

The Sligo girls bounced back well in this game following their loss to Galway in their opening championship game two weeks ago.

The Connacht LGFA minor football championship is being played on a round-robin basis this year with the top two teams set to contest the ‘A’ championship final.

Elsewhere on Sunday, Mayo minors made it two wins out of two with a 4-19 to 1-5 win over Roscommon.

Sligo continue their campaign next Saturday against Roscommon (time and venue tbc).

Leitrim minors, who have now lost their opening two games, take on Galway next Saturday in Carrick-on-Shannon at 2pm
