Orange level fire alert issued for this weekend.



Donegal County Council are appealing to everyone to exercise caution this weekend as the Department of Agriculture issues a Condition Orange Fire Warning Risk.

The notice applies to all areas where potential fuels such as gorse, heather, dried grasses, and other vegetation exist and remains until 12 noon on Monday the 28th of March.

Members of the public and landowners are asked to report any uncontrolled or unattended fires immediately to the fire service

Homeowners are urged to remove or cut back any vegetation that may pose a risk.

Donegal County Council are also reminding people it is an offence to cut, grub, burn or otherwise destroy any vegetation growing on any uncultivated land between the 1st of March and 31st of August.
