Almost half a million euro has been allocated for a range of arts and culture organisations and a number of festivals and events across Co. Sligo by the local authority.
€196,500 is going towards seven organisations such as €31,600 for the Blue Raincoat Theatre, €49,000 for the Hawk’s Well and €100,000 for the Model.
While 18 festivals and events are to benefit from a total of €292,000 including €11,400 for Sligo Live, €5,700 for the County Fleadh and €3,500 for the Ballygawley Music Festival.
Ballymote/Tubbercurry Fine Gael Councillor, Gerard Mullaney says these events generate much needed funds for their local economies.
