Motorists urged to drive with caution this morning



 

Sligo County Council are advising that Gibraltar rd and Mardyke areas are flooded and will remain closed until after high tide this morning.

 

The Local Authority have also warned that conditions will be very difficult through the morning as a result of heavy rainfall combined with saturated ground conditions.

 

 

Localised spot flooding in Sligo has been reported on the L1302 Carrowspaurran, and L5902 Cornamucklagh.

 

 

 

Fallen trees have been reported around the county including areas such as Cairns Hill, Sligo, at Teesan near Bertie’s Pitch and Putt, and near Calry Church .

 

 

In Leitrim trees are down on the Manorhamilton to Kinlough Road on the Manorhamilton to Carrick-on-Shannon road, the Dromahair to Sligo Road and on the road between Dowra and Blacklion.

 

 

There are also reports of localised flooding in many areas and motorists are advised to proceed with caution on all roads.

 

 

In Donegal Gardaí are warning of sea foam in costal areas that will make driving conditions difficult.

 

The Mall in Ballyshannon has been closed due to a fallen tree while there are also reports of fallen trees down at Ardaghy and on the main N15 between Laghey and Ballintra.
