Sunday’s Allianz Football League Division 4 match between Sligo and Cavan has been postponed.
A pitch inspection carried out at Markievicz Park early this morning deemed the surface unplayable, following heavy overnight rain.
The match was a top-of-the-table clash with both counties having won their opening two league fixtures.
The GAA will confirm a new date for the game in due course.
Sligo GAA says that online tickets which were bought for the Cavan game will still be valid for the refixture.
Sligo women’s gaelic footballers Division 3A match against Down at IT Sligo has also fallen victim to the weather this weekend.
It was postponed on Saturday.
The LGFA fixture has been re-fixed for next Sunday, Feb 27th – with the new venue for that game still to be confirmed.
