€28,000 raised by Maxi Zoo for Ireland’s Search and Rescue Dog Association was handed over by their store based in Sligo.
The money was raised through the pet retailers Friendship Connects campaign.
SARDA is a voluntary emergency organisation that trains and deploys Air Scenting Search and Rescue Dogs to search for missing persons.
Edelle Doherty of SARDA said the money will be used for more training and the upgrading of their equipment.
