Leaders Greystones snatch victory over Sligo

Sligo suffered a heartbreaking one point loss to Division 2B leaders Greystones on Saturday at Hamilton Park.

A late converted try by the visitors snatched victory from the home side who seemed set to claim a vital win in their push for a promotion play-off place this season.

Sligo trailed 10-6 at the interval but Callum Goddard’s second-half try in the corner, which was converted, helped Sligo move into a 16-10 second-half lead.

Player head-coach Josh Reeves enjoyed a flawless afternoon with the boot, kicking 14 of Sligo’s points in this game.

Sligo led 19-13 entering the closing stages of the game – until Greystones found a late late converted try with the final play of the game to take the win.
