Leitrim beat Mayo to collect Connacht hurling shield

Leitrim hurlers enjoyed a 2-24 to 0-24 victory over an understrength Mayo side in Friday evening’s provincial pre-season shield final, played at the NUI Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome.

Goals from Joe Murray and James McNabola, one in either half, ultimately proved to be the decisive scores in a keenly contested shield decider.

The inaugural Connacht hurling league final between Sligo and Roscommon will be played in the Air Dome on Saturday evening at 6pm.

The game will be streamed live for a tenner on connachtgaa.ie.

Leitrim will begin their Allianz hurling league Division 3B campaign on Sunday, February 6th, away to Lancashire.

Olcan Conway’s side are in a five-team division which also includes Cavan, Fermanagh and Longford.
