Information sought after objects thrown at vehicles in Collooney

Sligo Gardaí are investigating a number of incidents where vehicles have been struck with stones and eggs in the Collooney area.

Significant damage was caused to a vehicle in the most recent incident on January 16th.

There have been reports in different parts of the village including being thrown from the bridge at the Railway Station and along the Old Galway Rd.

Gardaí say such offences carry a maximum penalty of 7 years imprisonment or a fine or both.

Anyone with information is asked to contact their local Garda Station particularly between 8pm and 9pm on Sunday last.

Gardaí say they believe those responsible are likely young people and are urging parents to make their children aware of the dangers and penalties associated with this offence.
