There should be a greater onus on Civil Servants and those working in high profile positions to show greater responsibility during the periods of Covid restrictions.
Those are the claims of Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny who made the calls after the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Simon Coveney ordered an investigation into a gathering of his officials in June of 2020.
The gathering of Department of Foreign Affairs staff, was held in the aftermath of Ireland winning a seat on the UN Security Council.
Simon Coveney has denied attending the function.
Deputy Martin Kenny is the Sinn Féin spokesperson on justice and equality he says it was disappointing that the event took place during a lockdown.
